Toys over TV? 3 Educational toys that rock! @ed_insights

With my kids back into full swing at school and already on a four day vacation, they were surprisingly bored watching repeats on TV.  I needed to pull out the fun yet educational toys that would keep my little girls curiosity busy!

First up is the Educational Insights Design and Drill Flower Power Studio. My 5 year old daughter LOVED being able to use a “power” drill like her Daddy. With little assembly required she was playing within minutes and making some pretty awesome designs on the Flower shaped folding “take-along” activity board.

With 60 Bolts in 5 different colors, 6 Designer plates, and 2 Drill bits, designing this board is definitely entertaining!

The Educational Insights Design and Drill Flower Power Studio is perfect to take along for play dates, dinner dates and even on long car drives.

Folding it up makes clean up a breeze!

Next UP

Magic Moves® RainbowJam™ comes with a 16-Page musical activity book and online access to FREE downloadable song sheets and coloring sheets. For ages 3 and up my 9 and 5 year old could not stop jamming along to the catchy tunes in princess like tones.

Both my girls are music lovers so playing Rainbow Jam on sing along mode was one way they could play together. Creating music is easy too. Just slide your wand to Instrument Mode and touch any color to hear it’s musical note. Little ones can create and compose their own masterpieces! Since my 9 year old is a pianist she enjoyed this part the most.

  • Reinforces color learning
  • Offers opportunity for music creation and real-world musical play
  • Enhances listening skills Perfect for little music lovers
  • Perfect for travel

GeoSafari® Jr. Jungle Crew Lab Set™ is a 6-piece, animal-themed science set that turns any space into a science lab! what a great way to get my little girls interested into science.

Although the set includes an easy to follow booklet with illustrated instructions for 10 scientific experiments, my 9 year old decided to test out the colors from our favorite holiday sprinkles. Can we say gross!

  • Large lion test tube with pour-spout mouth
  • small lion cub test tube with pour-spout mouth
  • rhino flask
  • elephant funnel
  • hippo tongs
  • monkey dropper

I do think this was a pretty cool way to get the kids experimenting, observing and talking. The girls loved mixing new creations with baking ingredients.

  • Supports early math skills and understanding of measurement
  • Activities provide hands-on experience with physical science, the senses, and more!
