A Thursday night stroll down the trendy streets of New York City always seems inviting. There’s the Meat Packing district that’s filled with history, street style, and culinary treasures.
Then there’s celebrity hot spot Bagatelle! The place to be if you’re a fashionista, wine connoisseur or food obsessed. The decor is amazing, the music is hip and once you’re inside you feel overwhelmed with the beauty of their staff and that upscale menu!
Now on to my experience
We started off with Salade Bagatelle. The salad definitely was a great start to a fantastic meal. It was light and not heavy with the perfect amount of parmesan cheese and toppings.
(hearts of lettuce, Parmesan cheese, fresh garden herbs, mustard vinaigrette)
Ceviche de Crabe d’Alaska was everything I expected. The citrus brought out the fresh flavors of the dish and it wasn’t too spicy.
(king crab leg, habanero & citrus “leche de tigre”, smoked trout roe)
Tartare de Thon Bagatelle was served with greens and sauce which really complimented the flavor of the dish. It was light, smooth and had a firm texture.
(ahi tuna tartar, avocado salad, lime soy vinaigrette, taro chips)
Pizza à la Truffle Noire A.K.A fancy pizza! and with Autumn comes truffle season! Black truffle is considered “the diamond in the kitchen” so if you want to pamper your taste buds I recommend you try this prize as each bite is filled with flavors of fraiche and scamoza.
(black truffle, flat bread, crème fraiche, scamoza)
Poulpe Grillé à la Plancha tasted fresh from the island. When I think of Octopus I think of a rubbery texture but not the case here. It was crispy and tender at the same time and went down well with a glass of wine.
(Grilled octopus, white bean hummus, crispy Yukon gold, Kalamata olives aioli)
Gnocchi Truffés à la Parisienne de Nicolas was delicious! the exquisite flavor of the black truffles pesto filling enhanced the flavor of the truffle sauce.
(homemade gnocchi, black truffle pesto filling, truffle sauce)
I appreciated the Coquilles St.Jacques Rôties immensely. I know the meaning of true “diver” scallops and the hard work it takes to harvest these scallops. You too will appreciate the fresh sweet taste, firmness, and flavors of the sea!
(Maine diver scallops, braised saffron fennel, fire roasted pepper & black olives chimichurri)
Gambas Snackées au Pastis in one word. Delicious! this dish was extremely flavorful and it was probably one of my favorite dishes on the menu. The seared prawns were cooked to perfection and the herb risotto had a hint of summer with their fresh herbs.
(seared Jumbo prawns, herb risotto, pastis scented cream)
Châteaubriand – Pour Deux just melted in your mouth! it was rich, tender and paired perfectly with the truffle potato puree and sauce.
(24 oz center cut beef tenderloin, truffle potato purée, red wine and peppercorn sauce – for two)
Aloyau de Veau au Cumin was pleasant, mouth-watering, flavorful and tender!
(marinated veal porterhouse 16oz, caramelized red onions & squash, cumin infused veal jus)
Canard aux Figues was succulent, well seasoned, perfectly cooked and the fig and apple vinegar sauce really gave it a savory bite.
(pan seared marinated Hudson Valley duck breast, confit leg fritter, glazed daikon, fig & apple vinegar sauce)
Would I go back? Absolutely! date night, girls night out, you name it! I’d celebrate at Bagatelle. I heard their boozy brunches are everything! The energy of the place is contagious, welcoming and exactly the experience you want to feel when dining out at a luxurious restaurant in New York City.
